Can you relate?
Do you ever finish a consultation wondering if you asked the right questions, gaven too much information, ran over time, or missed the moment where the client needed something more than advice?
You are not alone.
Many practitioners have the knowledge, but still feel unsure about how to guide a consultation from beginning to end, especially when a real client is sitting in front of them.
This intensive is designed to help you bridge the gap between what you know and what you do in practice.
Text section
This intensive is ideal if you:
Are in your final year of study and seeing clients in student clinic
Are new to practice
Have returned to practice after time away
Work part-time and want more confidence in consultations
Struggle to keep appointments within their allotted time
Feel unsure what to do in follow-up consultations
Want to improve client engagement and compliance
Need a mid-year motivation boost
Would value practical discussion with other practitioners
A practical, collaborative day built around the real work of clinical practice. Not a lecture. Not a passive webinar. We'll work through structure, cases and the human side of the consult — together.
9:00am – 10:15am
The consult structure that keeps you under an hour without cutting corners. How to gather what you need, in the right order, without the appointment running away from you. We'll look at the framework that makes first appointments feel less like an interrogation and more like the beginning of a real therapeutic relationship.
10:30am – 12:00pm
We'll work through a first appointment case together as a group.
What do you gather? How do you prioritise? Where do you take it next?
If numbers allow, we'll break into small groups on Zoom so everyone has the opportunity to think out loud, not just watch.
12:00pm - 12.30pm
Private practice can feel isolating, especially when you are new, returning to practice after a break, or working part-time.
During the lunch break, you are invited to bring your own lunch and stay online for a relaxed group chat. No pressure. No formal teaching. Just connection, conversation and time with other practitioners who understand the realities of clinical work.
This is also a lovely way to experience the kind of community and case-based discussion that continues inside the Monday Clinical Group.
12:30 – 1:45pm
The follow-up appointment is often where practitioners feel least confident.
We'll work through a case from a follow-up lens, reviewing progress, adjusting plans, and maintaining the therapeutic relationship across time.
1:50 – 2:25pm
The often-missing piece. Language that motivates without lecturing. How to support behaviour change without taking on the responsibility for it. How to keep clients genuinely engaged in their own care, and coming back.
This day is for natural health practitioners and students who are in clinic or entering practice — whether you're finding your feet or a few years in and ready to sharpen what you're doing.
It's for you if:
Your appointments sometimes run long and you're not sure why
You find first appointments more draining than they should be
Follow ups feel less structured than you'd like
You want to feel more confident coaching clients through change, not just prescribing for them
You're ready to invest a day in the part of practice that makes everything else easier
A clear, repeatable consult structure you can use from your very next appointment
Real case study experience working through first and follow up appointments with peers
Practical language for coaching clients and supporting behaviour change
A clearer sense of where you want to take your practice next
